Institutional Accreditation

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is institutionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) and has been continuously accredited since 1934. Institutional accreditation recognizes the quality and integrity of the university as a whole, ensuring that UAF meets established standards of effectiveness, student learning, and educational support.

Programmatic, or specialized, accreditation is a rigorous review process that evaluates individual academic programs against discipline‑specific or professional standards.
