Green Bikes
Green Bike Release on the 28th of May.
UAF Green Bikes will be releasing forty free bikes at 2:00 pm on Monday, the 28th of May at the Nordic House on campus. Bring a polar express card as proof you're a student, a well-fitting helmet (if you don't have a helmet you will be able to purchase one there for $35), and be prepared to make a $250 deposit. You will only be charged the deposit fee if you return the bike in bad shape. Try to get to the Nordic House early, as the bikes are in high demand and will be claimed fast!
"How do I fix my own bike?"
- We are now holding office hours at the Nordic House! A trained mechanic will be there from 3:00pm-5:00pm Monday through Friday. Call the outdoor adventures office (9074746027) or email Green Bikes (uafgreenbikes@gmail.com) for directions.
- This is not a full-service drop-off type program. We won't do the work for you, but rather we'll help you learn how to do the work.
- We have a student stand located in Outdoor Adventures that is open for use Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm.
- We have a full set of tools, pumps, and some used spare parts available.
- There are also two new outdoor self-service bike repair stands at UAF. They are located in front of the south entrance of the Wood Center and near the west ridge bike lockers.
