Our Services

OSP offers the following services:

• Providing information about potential federal, state, and private sources of funding;
• Assistance in the development of high-quality proposals that meet sponsor criteria;
• Assistance with proposal preparation, including budget development;
• Providing final UAF authorization on all proposals to be submitted to sponsors;
• Acting as a liaison between the university and sponsors concerning pre-award issues;
• Working with faculty and staff to solve pre-award problems before proposals are submitted to sponsors; and
• Providing training to faculty and related staff on pre-award related issues and regulations.

OSP Review

OSP is responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and university regulations/policies related to research and external funding of sponsored projects. These areas of compliance include but are not limited to:

• The UAF Uniform Proposal Review Policy;
• OMB Circulars (2 CFR 220) A-21, (2 CFR 215) A -110, and A-133;
• Cost Accounting Standards;
• UAF’s CASB Disclosure Statement DS-2;
• UAF’s Federally Negotiated F&A and Staff Benefit Agreements;
• Animal Care and Use (IACUC) and Human Subjects (IRB);
• Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer;
• Potential Conflicts of Interest;
• Roles and Responsibilities of PIs/Project Directors; and
• Biohazards/Chemical Hazards
