The Center for Health and Counseling will be offering free vaccines during REV IT UP! The following are required vaccines/tests to live in UAF housing: Tetanus shot within the last 10 years, two MMR shots or proof of immunity, and a PPD test (for TB) within the last year. The meningitis and HPV shots are not required but are strongly recommended.
The following are free to those who fit the criteria listed below: (If the vaccine you need is not free, we will administer it to you at the Center during regular Center hours.)
- Meningitis vaccine - Freshmen 18 or younger living in dorms (for all others cost is ~$85)
- MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) - Students age 18 or younger (for all others cost is ~$45)
- Tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis - Any student who hasn't had one in 10 years (free for all students)
- PPD testing (TB testing--this is not a vaccine but a test for exposure to TB) - The test must be read by a medical provider within 48-72 hours–check at Rev-it-Up to see how this is done (free for all students)
- HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccine - Female students age 18 or younger (for all others cost is ~$145)
If you have any questions call the Center at (907) 474-7043. See you this fall!
