Advising

University Relations

I recently saw a proposed Advising Communication plan that included numbers for our staff advisors. CLA has one staff advisor for 800 students. CNSM has one staff advisor for 650 students. CEM one staff advisor for 650 students.

Yet, the Academic Advising Center has five staff advisors for 500 students. They do not see students with declared majors making the population they serve fairly small. Why are we not investing in to more advisors in the colleges for those students who have declared majors. Advising has been a long time issue for students so I am confused why we have 5 staff advisors for non declared students and only one staff advisor per college for those with declared majors.
