Student Life

There are many SOM student organizations active on campus and in the local community. Join one (or more!) of these student organizations to network and gain valuable experience outside of the classroom.

If you are already part of a SOM student organization, be sure to check out the Student Organization Toolbox for resources to help make your organization more successful!

Students at the top of their game maybe be inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS)a national honor society recognized as the highest scholastic honor a student can achieve in Business Administration at an AACSB-accredited institution.

If you're interested in investing, don't miss the Student Investment Fund (SIF). Students enrolled in SIF buy and trade on the stock market, investing funds valued at over $980,000.

Networking Opportunity

SOM students have the unique opportunity to volunteer at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce meetings held on Tuesdays at noon at the Carlson Center.

Students will be greeting guests. This is a great chance to network and meet business professionals. Up to two students each week are the guests of Pogo Mine. Dress is business professional. A warm, delicious lunch is included. SOM Development Officer Tammy Tragis-McCook will help host and introduce you to attendees.

To sign up to attend a Chamber luncheon meeting, submit the online sign-up form indicating your preferred date of attendance.
