Undergraduate Studies

We offer  Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) programs in elementary or secondary education. Using advanced distance delivery technology, many of the classes in the B.A. programs are available by distance education.

The UAF School of Education is fully accredited and prepares graduates who will recognize, and respect the cultural, linguistic and geographic factors specific to the Alaska context, and prepares future education leaders for a global setting.

Program Highlights

  • Content area and research based pedagogy coursework for effective teaching at an elementary or secondary level
  • Education courses with fieldwork in classrooms 
  • A capstone yearlong school internship with a mentor teacher and concurrent enrollment in professional coursework that focuses on the integration and application of theory, research, and practice in real school environments
