Minor in Education

An education minor is ideal for students interested in exploring the possibilities of a career in education. Courses will count toward a teacher licensure program. Students majoring in other disciplines will find this minor useful, for example:

  • Anthropology, sociology and linguistics majors interested in applied research in educationally related areas
  • STEM majors for outreach and science communication
  • Psychology, counseling, and social work majors who will be working with families and school personnel
  • History and philosophy majors interested in the history of childhood and schooling
  • Political science and justice majors interested in child advocacy and children’s rights
