Getting involved in campus events

Much of the college experience happens outside the classroom, so make sure to take advantage of all the great actives UAF has to offer.

Welcome events

Rev-It-Up helps students move into their rooms, and get everything they need to start school.

Welcoming Meetings for all residents are held within the first week of school either by complex or by floor.

Casino Night the starts the year off with a fun evening in the Hess Rec. Center of black jack, texas hold 'em, bingo, and prizes to be won! 

Toga and Starvation Gulch

Toga Kick-off Dance Make your bed sheet into a toga, and take your friends to the kick-off dance. Admission to Hot Toga Night  is $5 for on-campus residents / $10 off-campus students. On-campus students must present their PolarExpress card and off -campus students must have state ID and must be 18 or older. Students under 17 that live in the residence halls can attend.

Starvation Gulch bonfires have been a symbol of the passing of the torch of knowledge to our new students since 1923. We welcome back all our students with these great fires, and a huge party weekend!

Trick-or-Treat in the Halls / Children's Carnival 
Residents welcome children to a tour the halls for candy with a chaperone, then stay for a great, fun and free carnival with games and pumpkins.
