Waving students

Thank you! Your generosity is appreciated!

OLLI does not receive any direct funding from the State of Alaska or the University of Alaska-Fairbanks. We are a financially self-supporting program and rely on support from several sources:

  1. The University of Alaska Fairbanks provides an office, classrooms, audio/visual equipment, internet connections, personnel services (not OLLI staff), and financial services.
  2. Osher Lifelong Learning Endowment generates earnings.
  3. Membership and tuition fees provide income for direct expenditures.
  4. Individual donations support both the endowment and spendable funds.
  5. Volunteers provide instruction and committee participation.

With help from donors, in 2019 OLLI finished in the black financially for the 9th straight year!

We appreciate donations of all sizes and kinds, whether it's cookies for the classroom, sponsoring an instructor membership, or making a contribution to our annual fund.

In you have any questions or would like more information, please contact the OLLI office at (907) 474-6607.

Because of your generous support, in 2018 we met our major goals to satisfy our $25,000 capacity-building grant from the Bernard Osher Foundation.

We had 14% more paid members in 2018 than in 2016 (our goal was 10%).

We had 147 unique donors in 2018 (our goal was 130, double the 65 donors we had in 2016).

In 2018, members donated $28,952 to our spendable funds and $6,750 to our permanent endowment. We used donations to fund an upgrade of the smart classroom system in UPark 151. Upgrades include better vocal amplification of instructors for improved student hearing, a brighter projector, and a new computer.
