Military Appreciation

Free Admission for Alaska Military

The UA Museum of the North is pleased to offer admission to Alaska-based active duty military personnel and their immediate families through 2019. We are excited to continue our military appreciation program with the support of Wells Fargo.

Wells Fargo provides military admission

The University of Alaska Museum of the North announces our military appreciation program made possible by Wells Fargo. Since 2014, all Alaska-based active duty military personnel and their immediate family receive free admission to the museum.

“In Alaska, many of our Wells Fargo team members have family ties and community connections with the military,” says Wells Fargo Northern Alaska District Manager Vicki Kennebec. “We hope Alaska’s military families enjoy free admission to the UA Museum of the North. It is an honor for Wells Fargo to serve those who have served our country.”

For more than a decade, Wells Fargo has partnered with the UA Museum of the North to support Alaska’s military and their families. As part of a $35 million commitment to help veterans and military families with sustainable housing, career transition and financial education, Wells Fargo recently presented $75,000 to four nonprofit organizations supporting Alaska military service members, veterans and their families. In November 2013, Wells Fargo and Operation Homefront donated a mortgage-free home to an Alaska Army Reserve soldier in Anchorage.

Wells Fargo has been in Alaska since 1916. Its 900 team members in the state serve customers through 57 banking, mortgage, investment and insurance offices from Ketchikan to Barrow. The company invests $1.5 million each year in more than 300 nonprofits and schools in Alaska.
“Alaska is home to two large military installations and military members play an important role in our community,” says UAMN Director Aldona Jonaitis. “We are proud to partner with Wells Fargo to say ‘thank you’ to the large military populations in our region.”
To receive free admission to the museum, military personnel must present their current ID at the admissions desk. For more information, call 474-7505.
