Sikuliaq Science Day

The UAF School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences is hosting this free event.
Scientists who have just returned from their expeditions on UAF’s new research vessel will be on hand. Visitors can ask questions about oceanography and the ship’s first voyage to the Arctic.There will be giveaways of ship merchandise and refreshments.

Ushering in a new world of ocean science, the R/V Sikuliaq begins its research journey in 2014. This state-of-the-art research vessel will aid scientists as they search for answers to our most pressing oceanographic questions. This exhibit explores the ship and the science, while taking a look at a history of creative, oceanographic instrumentation.
