Associate of Science Degree

The Associate of Science Degree (AS degree) is a two year program designed to complete the major core requirements of a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS degree).  It is a broad based course of study which includes English, communication, math, science and humanity course requirements.  The minimum requirements for the degree are 60 credits.  All of the concentration electives are math and science based classes.  This type of degree helps prepare students for the medical and nursing degrees, math, engineering, biological studies or any other BS degree.  It is especially helpful to complete this degree if the intention is to transfer to another college after the two year study.

1. Complete the general university requirements:



COMM F131 or F141

2. Complete the AS degree requirements:

5 Humanity courses


Library Science

4 Natural Science with Labs

3. Complete the elective concentration area:

15 credits of science and math related classes.

4. Minimum 60 credits.  All credits must be at the 100 level or above; 20 credits must be at the 200 level or above.
