GRE and GMAT Scores

UAF does not have a minimum score requirement for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). It is recommended that scores be at least in the 50th percentile. These scores are considered in conjunction with a student's Grade Point Average (GPA), the Statement of Academic Goals and the letters of recommendation, so it is very important that all of these materials are sent to the Office of Admissions for a complete and fair evaluation of a student's eligibility for admission.

UAF offers the GRE test through Testing Services

TOEFL Requirements: If your native language is not English, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is required, even if most of your formal education was in English. The minimum score varies depending on the type of test:

  • Paper test:           550
  • Computer Test:    213
  • Internet Test:         79

In some cases the TOEFL may be substituted by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).  In this case the minimum score required is 6.5
