Samara joined the University of Alaska Fairbanks Development Office in June 2013 as the annual giving coordinator. She leads direct mail appeals by writing, designing and researching content and stories for print, as well as developing and producing online communication and web content from Annual Giving. She manages the bi-annual phonathon and in conjunction with the director of Annual Giving develops measures to advance communication with UAF alumni, students, employees and friends about Annual Giving and the Annual Fund.
Before returning to Fairbanks, Samara worked in development and communications as the event and volunteer coordinator for a non-profit in Hawai’i. Samara graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a bachelor of arts in Russian Studies (2006) and earned her master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh (2008). She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
Samara loves outdoor adventures and learning languages. She grew up traveling the world, a habit she can’t seem to break as an adult.
