Zoom to Kaltura Backup update

UA Kaltura Admins updated the Zoom integration settings in Kaltura to allow Zoom meeting Alternative Hosts to be given Co-Editor and Co-Publisher permissions automatically upon Zoom recording import. This change took place on Aug. 17. Please note that Zoom to Kaltura Backup is not currently available to UAS Zoom Users.

Announcing the upcoming launch of automated overtime

As part of the University's ongoing UAOnline upgrades, UA HR is pleased to announce the launch of automated overtime processing this fall. This new functionality will eliminate the need for employees to manually calculate their overtime hours on their timesheets, reducing errors and simplifying time entry.

Zoom Clips were enabled for all UA Zoom users on Aug. 17. Clips is a stand-alone recorder (audio, video, desktop/content) that is available when not in a meeting.

UA Paid Holiday Adjustment to FY27 & FY28 Independence Day Observance

To better align with summer programming staffing and federal holiday schedules, the FY27 and FY28 Independence Day holiday dates have been adjusted. Benefit-eligible employees working at least 20 hours per week are eligible to receive holiday pay.

Wagaman named director of UAF Cooperative Extension Service

Jennifer Wagaman has been named director of the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service, part of the Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension.

UAF pauses provost search until new chancellor is selected

Interim Chancellor Mike Sfraga announced the decision on August 20. Dr. Charlene Stern will continue serving as interim provost, providing stability during the transition.

Longtime UAF leader Ali Knabe has been appointed to serve as interim chief of staff. Knabe, who currently serves as associate vice chancellor for student affairs, will start her new position on Monday, Aug. 25.

University of Alaska President Pitney Announces UAA Chancellor Finalists

President Pat Pitney announced that she has selected four finalists in the search for the next Chancellor of UAA. Each finalist will visit the Anchorage campus between September 8 and September 18, 2025, engaging with the UAA community through two days of meetings, tours and open forum events.
