UAS announces new Provost

After a nationwide search, UAS Chancellor Aparna Palmer is pleased to announce Dr. Scott Billingsley as the university's next provost. Billingsley comes to UAS from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP).

Nickole Conley appointed Interim Chief Human Resources Officer

President Pat Pitney has appointed UAF Chief of Staff Nickole Conley as the UA system's interim Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective July 21, 2025. Conley will be taking over the new role from outgoing CHRO Memry Dahl, who has served as CHRO since 2022.

Dr. Heidi Pearson, Professor of Marine Biology at the University of Alaska Southeast (UAS), has received a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award in Marine Biology to monitor marine mammals in Portugal for Fall 2025.
