The employee newsletter will follow a modified summer schedule in July and August, with editions publishing on the second and fourth Fridays. The regular schedule resumes in September.

Up until now, locally milled lumber in Alaska couldn't be used in residential building projects. That wasn't because of quality, but because building codes typically require a grade stamp from a national agency, something too expensive and inaccessible for many small operators in Alaska.

In late July, the Faculty and Advisor menu and pages in UAOnline will be upgraded to the newest version. This change is part of a board initiative to modernize UA's student information systems (SIS), business-critical processes, applications, and infrastructure.

UAF interim chancellor selection process underway

President Pitney is accepting applications and nominations for the interim UAF chancellor through June 23. The appointment is expected in early July, with a permanent search to follow in fall 2025.
