Retroactive Pay Adjustments and Compensation Increases

The Legislature approved the supplemental budget on May 18 and it includes the negotiated FY23 3% salary increase for faculty and an additional 1% increase for staff, fire fighters, and local 6070 bargaining unit members. These increases could not be applied to base salaries until the Legislature granted the university the budgetary authority to do so.

Beginning June 1, 2023, UAF and UA System pages on Omni CMS will require "page check" on edited pages prior to publishing. The page check tool checks for misspelled words, broken links and accessibility errors.

Chancellor Karen Carey gifted with Tlingit name, adopted into Raven clan

Carey was gifted a Tlingit name during the UAS' annual Alaska Native Graduation Celebration and adopted into the Raven clan. Her name, Héide Shuwataaní, means "the one who opens doors."

In her two-year appointment, Dr. Simon will lead the SOE in its mission to work cooperatively with PreK-12 schools and the community, as well as the faculty to identify, prepare, and strengthen effective teachers and administrators for sustained contributions to the education profession.
