The University of Alaska is proud to be a co-host of the Arctic Encounter Symposium (AES) in Anchorage later this month. AES is the largest annual Arctic policy event in the United States.

President Pitney Appoints Dr. Aparna Palmer as UAS Chancellor

University of Alaska President Pat Pitney announced that she has selected Aparna Dileep-Nageswaran Palmer, Ph.D., to serve as the next chancellor of the University of Alaska Southeast. Dr. Palmer succeeds UAS Chancellor Karen Carey, who is retiring on June 30, 2023.

In Remembrance of Regent Darroll R. Hargraves

It is with deep sadness that the University of Alaska announces the passing of Regent Darroll R. Hargraves on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, after a period of illness, surrounded by family. Regent Hargraves served on the Board of Regents since 2019, and was a long-time, dedicated public servant to the people of Alaska.

Planned Butrovich Data Center outage May 13-20

UAF Facilities Services will be conducting a planned maintenance power shutdown in the Butrovich Building to integrate a new Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for the Butrovich Data Center (BDC). The University of Alaska Fairbanks main campus, including the Butrovich Building, and all UAF community campuses and outreach centers will not have Internet access during the planned maintenance shutdown.

Banner Cloud Migration Project Complete

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while we underwent a successful transition of Banner and related Ellucian products to the cloud. Before 5 p.m. on March 13, teams in OIT, Finance, Student Services and Human Resources finished the testing and validation of Banner applications, and service resumed for all users.
