Chief Audit Executive Nikki Pittman created a new Senior Institutional Compliance
Liaison position within Audit and Consulting Services, which Mary Gower has accepted.
She will support compliance within the university's operations in an increasingly
complex higher education regulation environment.
During this two-day meeting, the board will discuss preliminary FY24 budget proposals
in line with university priorities, as well as approving final distribution of the
FY23 budget as signed in June by the Governor.
The System Office mission statement is to be added to Board of Regents policy along
with the three existing university mission statements. A first reading will occur
in November, with a vote for formal approval in February.

Earlier this year, University of Alaska Southeast Chancellor Karen Carey announced
that she would be retiring at the end of the academic year, June 30. A nine-member
search committee has been appointed to recruit the next UAS chancellor.
