Governor Dunleavy signs a FY23 budget supporting critical investment in the UA system

The FY23 State of the Alaska budget that Governor Dunleavy released June 28 marks a turning point in support for the University of Alaska system, being the first operating budget increase in several years. The budget includes a modest base operating budget increase plus one-time investments in areas critical to Alaska's economic recovery.

Ethics Act compliance and annual disclosure of employment outside UA

All University employees (including regular, term, temporary, student and full and part-time faculty and staff) are responsible for complying with the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act (Alaska Statute 39.52). The Act sets standards for how we do our University jobs, and to a lesser extent, may limit our non-University activities.

As promised, as of July 1, 2022, UA employees can now experience a new look and feel with UA HR's request system and knowledge database. Please visitour UA HR Knowledge Base where you can search for HR information. From there you can access our Services web page to submit a request for assistance.

UA HR Embraces Year Long Project to redesign the current UA HR website

Members of the UA HR Leadership team recently met and embraced new projects for the coming year. The first project to be announced is a complete redesign of UA HR web pages to include easy to use layouts for information specific to human resources personnel and current, future and past employees.

UA HR Expanding Brown Bag Sessions for Supervisors starts Wednesday July 13

The UA HR team invites you to participate in the expanded monthly Brown Bag Lunch Forum specifically for Supervisors. This forum will be held on the second Wednesday of each month, in addition to the forum held on the fourth Wednesday of each month.

UA HR Drop Boxes Available

The UA HR office in Anchorage now has a secure drop box available at 1815 Bragaw Street. It is located outside of the main doors and available 24/7. In Fairbanks, the drop box is located inside the Butrovich Building just outside of Suite 211. In Juneau, the UA HR drop box is located in Soboleff 225.

Jennifer Tilbury appointed as UAF Associate Vice Provost of Student Success

Jennifer Tilbury has been appointed as UAF Associate Vice Provost for Student Success, effective July 1, 2022. In her new role, she will work to develop and direct short and long range initiatives related to student success and retention.

Bryan Hoppough announced as new UAF HR senior business partner

University of Alaska Human Resources has selected Bryan Hoppough to serve in the role as the UAF senior business partner (SBP). In this role he also serves as the senior business partner for System Office employees in Fairbanks.

Dash Hillgartner appointed UAS Director of Admissions

Dashiell "Dash" Hillgartner was appointed as the new UAS Director of Admissions beginning July 1. Dash has worked for UAS since 2019 as the Exchange & Study Abroad Coordinator.
