Dear UAF students,

With spring break coming up next week, I wanted to remind everyone of UAF’s COVID-19 guidance and resources, especially for those of you who will be traveling.

We continue to follow university guidelines and policies on face coverings and physical distancing.

If you travel outside of the state of Alaska for spring break, you will be required to have a negative test and practice strict social distancing for five days or to quarantine for 10 days before you return to in-person work or class. There are limited exceptions for people who were previously infected with COVID-19 and those who are fully vaccinated. Please be sure to review the requirements on University of Alaska campus entry restrictions.

Please review the student testing guidance so you know what to do for your own situation. Fairbanks-area students can schedule a COVID-19 test through the Student Health and Counseling Center. If you live outside Fairbanks, please contact your local health care provider. For students living in campus residence halls there are no additional testing or reporting requirements.

I also want to bring to your attention the newly updated and expanded State of Alaska’s COVID-19 vaccine eligibility guidelines. You can take an eligibility quiz and find vaccination appointments on the state’s COVID-19 vaccination website. The university’s COVID-19 vaccine information page also has resources and university-specific information.

The days are getting longer and the temperatures are warming. I hope that wherever you are spending spring break, you are able to take some time to relax and come back refreshed and ready to finish the spring semester.

Thank you for choosing UAF.
