Dear UAF community,

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is closed today in observance of Alaska Civil Rights Day. This holiday is an opportunity to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and reflect on the history that has shaped both Alaska and our nation. It’s also a chance to celebrate how far we’ve come and recognize the work still ahead.

At UAF, we foster a community of respect, diversity, inclusion, and caring. Together, through our actions and our shared values, we have the opportunity to create a community of belonging. Thank you for your continued commitment to this vision.
