The UAF Resilience Project
At the heart of our student care process is The UAF Resilience Project. The purpose of the Resilience Project is to provide education, support, and opportunities for engagement and growth in a campus environment that values diversity and inclusivity. Our objective is to provide wellness programming that is welcoming, inclusive, and responsive to all students. Through our commitment to providing resources and opportunities that will ensure success of the student, we hope to achieve our goals to
- improve the overall student experience at UAF,
- increase student well-being,
- improve mental health and life satisfaction,
- increase social support,
- increase optimism and hope,
- improve social skills and classroom engagement, and
- promote campus wellness and create a community that supports our students.
Our mission is to create a culture of health and wellness, as part of the learning environment, by way of self-care, mental health awareness, and education and implementation of skills that increase optimism, hope, grit, and overall life satisfaction in order to improve student experience and academic performance.
The Student Support Fund
The Student Support Fund is a one time opportunity to provide financial assistance to students in need due to extenuating circumstances and when all other options are exhausted. The fund is designated to off-set a short-term financial need and is not intended to replace or supplement financial aid.
To qualify for this fund a student must be a degree-seeking student at UAF that is currently making progress towards their degree. Students who apply and receive this fund must be willing to continue working with the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities for support and problem-solving. Students also must be wiling to provide needed documentation to verify need of request
How to apply:
Students may fill out the online application located below. All applications received will be reviewed on a weekly basis by the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities and the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs will make the final decision.
