Appointments and Our Late Policy

We see students on an appointment basis. Our goal is to meet the medical and counseling needs of the UAF students and work with the student's schedule as much as we can.    We ask students to arrive 15 minutes early for their appointment time, because there may be paperwork/computer questions that will take time. (ex: appt is at 9:00 am, student must arrive at 8:45 am.)

We understand that things come up from time to time but as a courtesy to
other students and in an effort to keep our staff from running behind schedule,
we have the following late policy.

Students that are 10 minutes late for a medical appointment will be rescheduled.

Students that are 15 minutes or more late for counseling appointments will have to reschedule their counseling appointments with their counselor and may be charged the $25 no show fee.

Please be sure we have your correct email address because email reminders are sent out in advance and if you would like a text reminder, we also have that feature available.

We are closed on weekends and follow the UAF Holiday closure schedule. There is a list on the Community Resources page for walk-in and after-hours clinics.

If you need to reschedule your appointment, please call us at 474-7043.

We are not a Walk-in Clinic

Same Day Appointments

Because we are NOT a "walk-in" Clinic, we reserve "Same Day" appointments each day for acute care illnesses or acute injuries on our schedule. These "Same Day" appointments can not be released until 8:00 am in the morning, on a first come first serve basis. We do not open these times up in advance. An acute illness may consist of fever, vomiting or infection. Please be specific about your illness and its severity so we can ensure enough time for you and the medical provider.

These blocks of time have been specifically set aside for a same day illness.  If you cannot keep your appointment please call 474-7043 and cancel. If you fail to show up for your same day appointment there will be a $15 "No Show Fee" put on your student account.
