Researchers at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power are recruiting Kotzebue homeowners to participate in a 24-month field study.
The study aims to reduce fuel oil use and home heating costs through energy efficiency improvements and the use of electric thermal storage heaters. The research is funded through the National Science Foundation/Navigating the New Arctic’s Reducing Fuel Oil Consumption in Rural Arctic Communities program.
