The University of Alaska Fairbanks
Established in 1917 when Alaska was still a territory, UAF is America's northernmost Land, Sea and Space Grant institution,»offering 33 certificates and»169 degrees»in 128 disciplines ranging from bachelor’s to PhDs. The university's 11,034 students come from all 50 states and 47 foreign countries. UAF's reach can be found across the entire state through its rural campuses, research stations, and Cooperative Extension Service and Marine Advisory Program offices. UAF also offers a number of unique programs and degrees focused on the biology, climate, natural resources and peoples of northern latitudes, the circumpolar North and the Pacific Rim.
The College of Liberal Arts is the largest college within the University of Alaska Fairbanks, offering 33 undergraduate and 14 graduate degrees in the arts, humanities and social sciences. CLA is home to the UAF Department of Music, »which offers both a Master and Bachelor of Arts, as well as Bachelors of Music in Performance and Music Education.
