Fairbanks Test Kitchen

Kitchen Information

Fees: Extension's DEC-certified kitchen can be rented at the rate of $20.00 per hour.

Location: The test kitchen is located upstairs in the Cooperative Extension Service state office building on UAF campus at 1751 Tanana Loop. Please click here for directions. There is no elevator in the building; clients should be prepared to haul items up one flight of stairs after entering the building from the parking lot. There is no loading zone at the street level entrance, but clients on foot can enter through the street-facing doors instead.

Parking information:  The parking lot is reserved 7 a.m.–5 p.m. for Gold Decal parking only. Visitors should travel to the Taku lot down the hill and purchase a permit from the kiosk next to the shuttle station.

About the Kitchen: The Cooperative Extension Service developed its test kitchen in 2004 with grant funds from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The Department of Environmental Conservation-permitted facility is located in Extension’s statewide building on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

Our test kitchen is open to the public for use for events, catering or small food production. This allows producers access to a permitted kitchen while they get their businesses off the ground.
