Silverfox Mine

UAF acquired the Silver Fox in 1977 from Turry and Annette Anderson. After its collapse in 2000, UAF students began rehabilitating the mine in 2007 and have since rebuilt the mine portal allowing acccess to the underground.

The ultimate goal of the Silver Fox Mine is to one day be used as an operational field laboratory for Mine Survey, Rock Mechanics, Mine Safety and Operations, Industrial Explosives, and various other courses offered at the Department of Mining & Geological Engineering.
