What are my options?
We are offering four trips this year. All of the trips will take place right before traditional Orientation. Our pre-trip day is included in these dates. The itineraries linked here are samples these trips are subject to change.
- Rafting an Alaskan River - August 21-25
Join us as we paddle down river on one of Alaska’s most exciting rivers. We will paddle out and experience four days of both exciting stretches of whitewater ranging from class II to III, and slower more relaxing water. Our time on the river is the perfect way to build new friendships and get excited about the school year to come!
- Canoeing- August 21-25
Join us as we canoe the Tangle Lake system nestled in the Delta Mountains . Incredible scenery and fantastic wildlife viewing are inevitable on this trip. Paddle during the day and enjoy dinner cooked on backpacking stoves and camping in the evenings. Learn new canoe paddling skills or practice the ones you know and make new friends that will make your UAF experience even better!
- Backpacking in Denali State Park: Kesugi Ridge - August 21-25
Strap boots to your feet and a pack to your back, because you’ll be walking 20 miles of the beautiful Kesugi Ridge in Denali State Park overlooking the Alaska Range . We'll hike up the ridge on the first day, across the ridge the next day and spend the third day doing a day hike to a near by peak. On the fourth day we'll hike out a different trail and head back to Fairbanks. This is four days of amazing views, challenging hikes, good friends, and maybe even seeing a bear!
