UAF Students:

Fairbanks community organizations are seeking volunteers and they are coming to campus to find students that are interest in helping out our community.

Come to the Volunteer Fair and find out more information about all the various opportunities to get involved!

Fairbanks Community Organizations:

Once again it’s time for the semi-annual UAF Volunteer Fair! The Leadership Program is planning the 2008 Fall Volunteer Fair for Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 11am-2pm in the Wood Center.

This event is an opportunity for your volunteer agency or student organization to recruit new volunteers. We provide the student participants, set-up in a central location on the UAF campus, and marketing for this event. You provide the volunteer opportunities and information about your agency or organization. This fair allows your volunteer agency or student organization the opportunity to talk to a number of prospective student, staff, and faculty volunteers and to recruit for your various opportunities. If you currently do not have volunteer opportunities available, you are still welcome to advertise your volunteer agency or student organization and any future opportunities that will be available.

Below is a registration form; for your convenience please feel free to complete the electronic form and email it back to us at volunteer@uaf.edu by Friday, August 29, 2008. Once you’ve registered for the fair, we will send you an email confirmation and another reminder email with logistical information closer to the date. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns in the meantime, please contact the Leadership Program at 474-1170 or e-mail volunteer@uaf.edu.

Once a month the Volunteer Program takes UAF students out to various programs within the community that are in need of volunteers.  We will do our best to post updates as we know what is planned, for more information contact us at the office: 474-1170 or volunteer@uaf.edu

Equinox Marathon
Saturday September 20, 2008 @ 9-2PM or 2-6PM

Location: UAF Campus (near SRC)

Volunteers will man the finish line timing, the food/drinks table and cheer the runners on!!

2PM - 6PM

In order to meet the needs of the students we have Friday of Service events that last a few hours on a Friday afternoon. These events are held on campus and allow students to spend a short time volunteering instead of most of their Saturday. Please join us!
