SPRING 2013 VOLUNTEER FAIR!

Happening at the Wood Center February 13th!

From 11am-2pm on Wednesday, Feb. 13th the LIVE program, as an office of the Wood Center will be hosting the Spring 2013 Volunteer Fair.

We will have music, free popcorn and lots of information available from the non-profits of the Fairbanks community. Volunteer experience is something that is both professionally and personally rewarding to those who make the commitment!

We have invited as many representatives as are available on the date and we can't wait to see you there!

Mission

Helping you (students, faculty, and staff) find programs in the Fairbanks community or on campus that fit your individual interests so that you get the most out of your volunteer experience.

Program

The UAF Volunteer Program Office promotes community service learning in all aspects of university life. Working closely with the United Way of the Tanana Valley , our program serves as clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities for students, faculty and staff of the University of Alaska Fairbanks . We will help you match your interests with community needs. Be a positive role model for a child. Tutor a person learning English as a second language. Play cards and visit with a Senior. Pull out that hammer, put on your work gloves and help build a home.

ASB 2011 Restoration Project

Volunteering is a great way to develop your leadership potential while also helping those in the community.  Sometimes as a busy college student it can be hard to get off campus and volunteer, which is why we offer monthly Student Opportunities for Service (SOS) and provide the transportation to a community service event.  We also facilitate annual Alternative Spring Break trips to places like El Salvador, New Orleans and Arctic Village, AK for those who want a more intense volunteer experience.

Take a look around our website and come visit us or call/email us if you have any questions or would like to sign up for an event.
