Once you have submitted your new organization request through OrgSync you'll need to contact the student organizations office in Wood Center for a meeting regarding your club proposal. We are conveniently located in the Wood Center offices, available via phone at 474-1170, or by email at

Latin American Student Organization (LASO)

Student Organization Description:
Latin American Student Organization (LASO) is a student based organization with the purpose of raising cultural awareness, networking and strengthening leadership skills. In addition, members will receive information regarding scholarships, internships, community service opportunities, peer mentoring, tutoring and more. LASO also welcomes staff, faculty and friends from the Fairbanks community to our monthly gatherings & sharing traditional food, stories, games, history, folk and modern dances, etc. Join us; bring a friend. Everyone is welcome! Our intent is to establish a community of support where we can share our common experiences while striving for academic achievement and excellence. Our aim is to promote cultural understanding and appreciation of the diverse Latino culture and to establish a mission of service at UAF and the entire Fairbanks community. We will work together to develop a sense of pride among members toward the Latino heritage.
