Student Organization Description:
Our mission is to support and enhance our community through raising funds that will be directly donated to community services, and through member volunteerism in community events. Our vision is to enhance our community and build and strengthen partnerships within it. Organization The HSSO will have a board of students and HUMS Faculty advisors. The club will meet a minimum of every 4 weeks to organize fund raisers and notify its members of potential volunteer opportunities/needs. Its board members will be nominated and chosen by the HUMS student body. The board will make decisions based on majority vote of its members. To be a member of the HSSO you have to pay $3.00 a semester and volunteer 3 hours in community events such as Relay for Life, blood drives, health fairs, and etcetera. The board will meet with different agencies to share the vision of the HSSO, establish rapport, discover needs of the agencies, and then make decisions as to which agencies to focus on for each semester. The board will network with each of its members and each member will have a say in what the club does.
