Freshman Leadership Academy

The UAF Freshman Leadership Academy is a fun, innovative and challenging leadership development opportunity made available to incoming UAF freshman. Each year, a group of freshmen are selected to participate in FLA. This program allows students to challenge themselves in new ways, build relationships with fellow students, faculty and staff and improve and cultivate their leadership skills.
The FLA is open to a variety of different people. We know that leaders come in all different packages and experience levels. Whether you have held many leadership positions before, or this is the first time you have considered your own leadership development, this program is for you! We are looking for students who want to make a positive change in their communities and make their mark at UAF!
FLA is a 6 week program that begins in mid October and continues through the end of fall semester. We will meet once a week and FLA participants will be challenged in a variety of settings, such as large-group activities and discussions, team-building challenges, and small group meetings. FLP is an excellent opportunity to learn about yourself and the impact you can make!
