Student Chapter Business
1. Annual Game Dinner
Volunteers are needed for our 21st Annual Game Dinner scheduled for April 26th at the Ken Kunkel Community Center (next to Ivory Jack’s). We have people currently soliciting businesses; however, we need people to collect game donations, assist with cooking, and set-up/clean-up. This event is a key fundraiser for us, and also lets us connect with the community. Contact fbscwlf@uaf.edu if you would like to help.
2. Spring Migration Festival
The Annuals Spring Migration Festival at Creamer’s Field will be held Saturday,
April 26th, from noon – 4:00 pm. This event is co-sponsored by ABO, Friends of Creamer’s Field, BLM, and several other organization with the goal of informing and encouraging community involvement in avian conservation. Volunteers are needed to assist with face-painting, migration games, arts and crafts, and a variety of other events. Contact fbscwlf@uaf.edu if you would like to be help.
3. Caribou/Muskoxen Pedigree Project at LARS
A student research opportunity is available to create a pedigree for both the
caribou and muskoxen herds at LARS. This is an effort to determine if inbreeding is occurring in the herds, and if so, to determine to what degree. Con Contact fbscwlf@uaf.edu or Kris Hundertmark ffkh@uaf.edu if you would like to help.
4. AK TWS State Chapter Annual Conference
The Annual Conference for the AK State Chapter of TWS will be held April 22nd – 24th at the Millennium Hotel in Anchorage. A van sponsored by the State Chapter is available to transport up to 8 students to attend the conference. If you would like to reserve a seat, please contact fbscwlf@uaf.edu.
