The organizers of the IPY Oslo Science Conference (http://www.ipy-osc.no/) June 8-12, 2010 are encouraging students and early career scientists to attend. There are special registration rates and sponsored travel opportunities available. The deadline to apply is January 20, 2010.

The UAF Center for Global Change is offering graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to compete for research grants. Selected student projects will be funded for 1-2 years at up to $10,000 per year. Preliminary proposals are due Monday, February 15, 2010. Today the Seward Peninsula Hydrometeorology Network website was unveiled. Jessie Cherry, INE Researcher, said that the site archives past data from the peninsula and with on-going research driven proposals current live data as well as additional recordings will be maintained.
