Travel Opportunities for Two Polar Conferences

The organizers of the IPY Oslo Science Conference (http://www.ipy-osc.no/) June 8-12, 2010 are encouraging students and early career scientists to attend. There are special registration rates and sponsored travel opportunities available. The deadline to apply is January 20, 2010.

Immediately following the Oslo conference on June 13-17 will be the Third European Conference on Permafrost, http://www.eucop2010.no/. The Permafrost conference also advertises support for students.

2010 Student Grant Competition

The UAF Center for Global Change is offering graduate and undergraduate students the opportunity to compete for research grants. Selected student projects will be funded for 1-2 years at up to $10,000 per year. Preliminary proposals are due Monday, February 15, 2010.
