2007-8 Recycle Sales
Fall: October 6, 2007, Wood Center Ballroom
Spring: Saturday, March 22, 2008
The UWA Recycle Sales are fund raisers for UWA scholarship fund and other
community projects. Sales occur twice yearly, in both Spring and Fall.
Everyone in the Fairbanks community is encouraged to move gently used items
off their garage shelves and out of the backs of their closets and get
them back into use by bringing them to the UWA Recycle Sale.
UWA provides
a place where sellers can drop off their items in the morning, we sell
them beginning at noon, and the sellers return in the late afternoon to
collect their money (and any of their items that did not sell). UWA gets
20% of the price of each article that sells. Sellers can get rid of items
they are not using, make money, and support a good cause.
Each Sale features
a treasure trove of clothing, books, outdoor gear, CDs, toys, sports equipment,
camping gear, small appliances, baby furniture, musical instruments, craft
supplies, building supplies etc. The idea is to get the items back in to
use. In that way the Recycle Sale is important to students, UAF personnel
and our community. Lizz Focella, of the UAF Women’s Center, is chairing
the October 6, 2007 event. Please call her at 474- 6360 or email her at <mailto:fsesf1@uaf.edu>fsesf1@uaf.edu
