INTERNATIONAL DINERS
UWA International Diners is on hiatus until fall. At the Fall welcome tea in September members will have a chance to sign up to participate.

GOING TO ENGLAND SOMETIME SOON?
One of our UWA members, Helen Howard, is renting her late parents' house in Cornwall, England by the week. The bungalow was built in 1933 and is comfortable but not fancy. It sleeps up to six in two large bedrooms and a loggia.

Helen would like to provide details to anyone who is interested. It is in a very desirable location, near Rock, which has become the Mecca for the upper crust, sailing, golfing and surfing crowd. The house is about half way between the surfing beach at Polzeath and the sailing club at Rock, with a view across the mouth of the estuary of the River Camel to Stepper Point and the Atlantic Ocean. There are three golf courses almost within view.

You may contact Helen by calling 488-2314 or e-mailing her at <mailto:hmh@acsalaska.net>hmh@acsalaska.net.

BOOK GROUP
The book of the month for July is the science fiction classic, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Laura Walsh has free extra copies of the book, if you don't have one. Email her at <mailto:lwalsh@acsalaska.net>lwalsh@acsalaska.net if you would like a copy. She also has a set of audio CDs of the book. Orson Scott Card himself says that this is the best way to experience his book. This is an awesome recording.

The July meeting will be Tuesday, July 24 at 6:30 pm at Laura's house: 2555 Allen Adale Rd.

Directions: take Geist Road west and it turns into Chena Pump Road after it goes under the Mitchell Expressway. Go straight through the light at the Justa Store Gas Station (do not turn on Chena Ridge Road). Just after the road narrows to only two lanes, take a right turn on Old Chena Ridge Road. There will be a transfer station (the dump) on your left after you turn. Cross the bridge and wind up the hill about a half a mile and turn left on Allen Adale Road. There will be a bank of mailboxes on your right after you turn. Wind up hill again, until it levels out a bit. There will be a big fancy house on your left, then a house under construction on the left, and then our house (also on the left). We have a small gray house, down a fairly steep driveway. There is room to park at the bottom of the drive.

Laura would appreciate it if you could RSVP to <mailto:lwalsh@acsalaska.net>lwalsh@acsalaska.net (or call 374-8084, if you donÕt have email), but if you can' RSVP, come anyway.

For August, we thought we would do book talks. Bring an old favorite or a recent discovery and entice us.
