SALAD LUNCHEON
The Salad Lunch group meets once a month at a member's home. The hostess
chooses the date. We each bring a salad and the hostess usually provides
beverages, bread and dessert. If you would like to introduce a friend to
UWA, please invite them to attend as your guest. It's a fun way to meet with
friends and relax.
Mariclare Langan hosted in May. It was such a beautiful sunny spring day
and we had a wonderful time. Thank you, Mariclare!
Floss Caskey will be hosting this month on Wednesday, June 28th at her home
at 705 Cranberry Ridge Drive. Please RSVP by calling 457-4424 or email
cranberrybandb@alaska.net. Floss tells us "I looked at my 2005 calendar
to
make sure my Mock Orange bush will be in full bloom. Remember last summer?
I had luncheon on June 21 and it was just beginning to blossom. It was
awesome two days later. I was a bit disappointed, to say the least. Sooo,
hopefully the 28th will be a better date and we will all enjoy the wonderful
fragrance from the garden."
Cora Cook will host the July luncheon.
If you would like to be our August luncheon hostess, please give Floss a
call at 457-4424 and together you can set the date.
INTERNATIONAL DINERS
For those who have not participated in International Diners before: A host
chooses a month and decides upon a cuisine theme. The host contacts all
International Diners who have indicated that they plan to attend. Based on
the response, the host plans a meal, and all participants will get a recipe
to prepare. Participants are asked to keep a monetary total of what they
spend to prepare their dish. During the dinner, all totals are added
together, and an average sum is assigned to each person. Thus, a person who
prepared an inexpensive dish will likely end up paying some money, and those
who prepared an expensive dish will likely get some money back. It is a fun
way to collect some great recipes and the dinners are a feast

HOUSE FOR RENT
I will be taking a leave of absence next academic school year (September
2006-May 2007) and would like to rent out my home to someone in the
University community while I am gone. It will be fully furnished
and has a heated garage, etc. so I thought it might be ideal for a visiting
or first year professor.
