SALAD LUNCHEON
The Salad Lunch group meets once a month at a member's home. The hostess
chooses the date. We each bring a salad and the hostess usually provides
beverages, bread and dessert. If you would like to introduce a friend to
UWA, please invite them to attend as your guest. It's a fun way to meet with
friends and relax.
Floss Caskey will be hosting this month at noon on Thursday, July 6th at her
home at 705 Cranberry Ridge Drive. Please RSVP by calling 457-4424 or email
cranberrybandb@alaska.net. Despite the recent cool and rainy weather, we
join Floss in hoping her lovely Mock Orange bush will be in bloom for our
visit so that we will all enjoy the wonderful fragrance.
Cora Cook will host the August luncheon.
If you would like to be our September luncheon hostess, please give Floss

call at 457-4424 and together you can set the date.
RECYCLE SALE
The Fall Recycle Sale is set for Saturday, September 23rd. Helpers will be
needed for a variety of shifts to cover from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please
contact Rita at osborne@gvea.net or 479-4535 if you would like to help with
this event.
2006 HOLIDAY BAZAAR
Tuesday, July 11 at 10 AM will be the first gathering to form the Bazaar
planning committee. It will take place in the large meeting room on the
second floor of Gulliver's Book Store.
The Holiday Bazaar is scheduled to take place November 4th and 5th. We
expect to have over 300 vendors. If you would like to participate, please
come to the meeting. If you can't make it, but would be willing to take on
a task, contact Georgene Nielsen (479-0988 or email

SEEKING OFFICERS
UWA needs members to fill the following board positions: President, Vice
President - Service, Vice President - Social, and Secretary.

Helen Howard, Membership Vice President, hopes to increase the membership

HOUSE FOR RENT
I will be taking a leave of absence next academic school year (September
2006-May 2007) and would like to rent out my home to someone in the
University community while I am gone. It will be fully furnished
and has a heated garage, etc. so I thought it might be ideal for a visiting
or first year professor.
