SALAD LUNCHEON
The Salad Lunch group meets once a month at a member's home. The hostess
chooses the date. We each bring a salad and the hostess usually provides
beverages, bread and dessert. If you would like to introduce a friend to
UWA, please invite them to attend as your guest. It's a fun way to meet with
friends and relax.
Thank you to Floss Caskey who hosted the July salad luncheon. Her lovely
Mock Orange bush began to bloom that day.
Cora Cook will host this month's Salad Luncheon at noon on Friday, August
18th. Please call her to RSVP and to get directions to her home. Her phone

RECYCLE SALE
The Fall Recycle Sale is set for Saturday, September 23rd. Helpers will be
needed for a variety of shifts to cover from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please
contact Rita at osborne@gvea.net or 479-4535 if you would like to help with
this event.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL
it is time to renew your UWA membership for 2007-2008. The membership form
can be found as an attachment to this newsletter or on the UWA website,
www.uaf.edu/uwa. In order to be included in the 2007-2008 membership
directory, your renewal form must be in by October 1.
INTERNATIONAL DINERS
The International Diners will resume activity in October if enough members
are interested. The plan is to sign up at the Fall Tea in mid September.
2006 HOLIDAY BAZAAR
The Bazaar planning committee meets each Tuesday at 10 AM in the large
meeting room on the second floor of Gulliver's Book Store. Come join us.
The Holiday Bazaar is scheduled for two days Saturday, November 4th and
Sunday, November 5th. We expect to have over 100 vendors each day. If you
would like to participate, please come to the meeting. If you can't make
it, but would be willing to take on a task, contact Georgene Nielsen

UWA needs members to fill the following board positions: President, Vice
President - Service, Vice President - Social, and Secretary.

Helen Howard, UWA Membership Vice President, is working to increase our
membership. She has arranged for UWA to have a table at the UAF Fall
Volunteer Fair on September 14 between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Wood
Center. Please, drop by. Helen feels if we had several members there, it
would seem more 'friendly'.
