Patty Hamilton’s home, 431 Gold Dust Drive. Bring an “old photo” with a
story to share. You are welcome to bring a friend. Board members are asked
to bring finger food (sweet or savory).

HOLIDAY BAZAAR NOVEMBER 4-5
August 30th was the day of the first mail-out. Lorraine will need help with
the lottery selection of vendors on Sept 25 especially if you have had
experience with the process in the past. Please plan on helping out at the
bazaar. Call Lorraine Phillips to volunteer. 479-6078 or e-mail
lorry@acsalaska.net. Lorraine has discovered that this will be the 36th
Bazaar, not the 35th.
The Lathrop ski team will again do the cloakroom. They did an
excellent job last year.
Rich Veazey of the Library Archives Department will have a sale of archival
photos in the Kayak Room on the same day as the Bazaar.

FALL CONTRADANCE: University Women's Association is again sponsoring a free
contra dance at the Wood Center Ballroom on September 18th from 8pm - 11pm.
Dance instruction will be provided by caller Lynn Basham with live music by
Celtic Confusion. The wonderful thing about contra dance is that if you can
walk, you can contra dance. Every dance is taught and practiced before the
music starts. Even then, the caller will remind you of the next move
throughout the dance. Come give it a try.

ALL BOOKS CONSIDERED meets on the 2nd Monday at 5:30 pm in the Conference
Room of the Noel Wien Library. Judy Triplehorn points out that more
participation from UWA members is needed. Books coming up:
September 13 - Angels and Demons by Dan Brown
October 11 - Night in the Lonesome October, by Roger Zelazny
November 8 - Eats, Shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss
December 13 - Wizard of Oz, by Frank Baum

INTERNATIONAL DINERS will hold an Octoberfest at the Braley’s on October
23rd. Save that date. Details next month.
SALAD LUNCH will get underway in October as well.
The web address in the masthead should work says our webmaster.

Barbara Braley received the following letter from the president of the Delta
Historical Society, P.Allen Funk:

Dear University Women's Association,
On behalf of the members of the Delta Historical Society I would like to
say thank you for the donations in the amount of $215.00 in memory of
Nan MacGregor-Scott. We will have the memorial plaque made and placed on
the parlor stove.

This is what we are thinking of having put on the plaque. I hope this is
also what you had in mind.

In memory of Nan MacGregor-Scot
For her untiring dedication to the restoration of Rika's Roadhouse
October 15, 1934 to March 12, 2004
by the University Women's Association

If you would like this to read otherwise, please feel free to let me
know within the week. If I do not hear from you we will proceed to go
ahead and have the plaque made.

Again thank you,
