THIS IS A PLEA FOR A PRESIDENT FOR THE ASSOCIATION. We have an enthusiastic,
responsible, hardworking board so the job should be pretty straightforward,
and one of the easier ones.

Uma has sent in a schedule for the next several months:
*June 24, 2003 First Bazaar Committee Meeting, contact Jane Bechtel (only
because this first meeting is at her house)
*September 13 Fall Recycle Sale, contact: Beth Olson
*September 14 Fall Welcome Tea, contact: Nancy Klammer
*September 27 Contra Dance from 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm in Wood Center Ballroom,
contact: Barbara Braley
*November 1-2 Holiday Bazaar
*Late January Cabin Fever gathering, we need an organizer for this, we
may have location already...

DONATIONS TO ORGANIZATIONS: Barbara Day has written and mailed the checks
to the five organizations the Association chose at our annual meeting.
These organizations received $300 each.

The BAZAAR COMMITTEE will be meeting June 24th at 7:00 PM at Jane Bechtel’s
home.

SALAD LUNCH: Myllie Thomas will host a salad luncheon on June 17. Please
call her to RSVP and get directions. Her number is: 479-7377.
Rita Osborn hosted a delightful salad luncheon in May. We had a wonderful
time! Thank you, Rita! Mary Langan has invited members to a salad lunch on
the 9th of July. Please contact her at 479-2332.

INTERNATIONAL DINERS: Hal and Ruth Levey will host Diners on June 28, at 6
PM, at the Peytons’, 1790 Red Fox Drive, for a PICNIC ON THE PORCH.

CLASSIFIED ADVERTISEMENTS: If any members wish to submit classified ads for
future newsletters please e-mail them to the newsletter editor. We will
print them if space is available.
HOUSESITTER and/or CRITTERSITTER available May 18th through the end of
August 2003. Rest assured that your home and animals are well cared for by
a mature, reliable and responsible individual. Local references are

Care Line Crisis Intervention (alias Crisis Line) needs volunteers to answer
phones. Trained volunteers handle crisis calls and provide referrals to
people in need. Only two shifts per month are required. If interested in
helping, call Kimberlee at 452-2771.

Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living (the women's shelter) can
always use donations of toiletries and clothing for women and children. The
women need professional clothes and make-up for job interviews and
court appearances. Now that summer vacation is here, games and outdoor toys
are needed for the children living at the shelter. Your tax deductible
donation can be left at 717 Ninth Ave.
