University Women's Association Newsletter

MAY 2002

Mark your Calendars! Annual Membership Meeting--May 5:
What: This is the spring meeting for our entire membership. Do come
socialize, bring a friend, and hear about this year's successes and next
year's plans. New members are always welcome.
When/Where: Sunday, May 5, 2002, from 2-4pm on the 5th floor of the
International Arctic Research Center (IARC), on campus west of the
University Museum, next to the Geophysics Building.
Agenda: Business Meeting: Election of Officers, Treasurer's Report and
distribution of funds, early renewal of memberships for next fall.
Throughout the meeting there will be a silent auction of a lovely
watercolor donated to UWA by Fairbanks' artist Pati Axtell. Special Treat:
A short demonstration on creating your own watercolor greeting cards by
Gael Murakami.
We are looking for a few good finger foods (cookies, chips/veggies/dips,
etc.) Please call or email Uma Bhatt to volunteer provisions:
bhatt@iarc.uaf.edu , 474-2662(W), 458-8576(H).
Note: The IARC building will be locked at the time of the meeting,
therefore someone will be standing by the front entrance door to let the
UWA folks in and tell them how to get up to the 5th floor. We will
definitely have someone at the door from 1:45 to 2:15pm. After that people
can ring us on a cell phone and someone can come down (number is
250-0885).
