Winter Cabin Fever Daze

March 8, 2003 Saturday 2 - 4p.m.

Hosted at the home of Jane Bechtel and program was organized by Carol Woodall.

Though we organized this event later than usual this year, it is never out-of-season to remind ourselves of the multitude of exciting activities going on in this town. It was a beautiful sunny day and the roads were a bit icy!

Pat DeRuyter, President of the Alaska Skijoring and Pulk Associations, outlined the process and benefits of learning how to skijor with your beloved dogs. Learn more by visiting: http://www.sleddog.org/skijor .

Theresa Thompson, Coordinator of Volunteers for the United Way of Tanana Valley discussed volunteer opportunities. To learn more about our local United Way visit: www.unitedwaytv.com .

Elizabeth Shapland, long-time UWA and Cabin Fever Quilters Association member spoke of the quilting activities. The Cabin Fever Quilters Association meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 7:15 at Monroe Catholic High School (come in the back door). Beginners welcome. Come learn quilting through helping with community service projects.

UWA members enjoying the warmth of Janes home and the great presentations.
