URSA encourages UAF faculty members to become mentors by involving undergraduate researchers in their research and creative scholarship projects. To facilitate these relationships, URSA offers mentoring workshops.
URSA has funds to support faculty members and post doctoral students participating in or preparing for mentoring undergraduate students in research or creative projects. Each September, URSA releases a request for proposals for faculty and post doc projects and/or travel. Congratulations to faculty members whose projects have been funded by URSA for the 2013 academic year: Jeff Benowitz, Claudia Ihl, Gary Laursen, Andres Lopez, Alexie Rybkin and Elena Vayndorf.

Boiler Plate: Culture of Undergraduate Research at UAF
Faculty members submitting grant proposals that include an undergraduate research component may find it useful to use all or part of this boiler plate document in their proposals. This document is updated each semester, but it should be read carefully prior to inclusion in a proposal; one may wish to add personal data.
