URSA encourages UAF faculty members, post-doctoral students and graduate students to become mentors by involving undergraduate researchers in their research and creative scholarship projects.

URSA has funds to support faculty members, post doctoral students and graduate students participating in or preparing for mentoring undergraduate students in research or creative projects. Each Fall, URSA releases a request for proposals for mentoring projects and/or travel.

UAF full-time faculty, post-docs or graduate students from all disciplines and campuses are invited to apply for URSA Mentoring Awards (up to $5000) in support of student research or creative projects or the development of programs for mentoring these activities. The mission of the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) is to support and promote high-quality undergraduate student-faculty collaborative research and scholarship.

Faculty members submitting grant proposals that include an undergraduate research component may find it useful to use all or part of this boiler plate document in their proposals. This document is updated each semester, but it should be read carefully prior to inclusion in a proposal; one may wish to add personal data.
